Army W.E.T.S Prototype
A literal baptism of fire into UX Design
2024 - In progress
The Army W.E.T.S. Dashboard is a sophisticated prototype designed to provide military commanders with a comprehensive, real-time overview of critical data, enhancing decision-making at all levels.
Drawing information from key systems such as JPA, MJDI, JAMES, Muster, and the SOR tool, this dashboard integrates various data streams to offer a cohesive and intuitive user experience.
How it happened!
27th June 2024
A mission came in from the Commanding Officer…
“Sgt Jones, I need a mock-up of a commanders dashboard creating in 3 days to deliver to Commander 1 Div, can you do it?”
“err….
….Yes Sir?”😓
I knew what tools to use, Figma surely… but I had no experience with it at all.😟
I had also started on my Google UX design course but hadn’t even finished my second module.. what to do??
Hmmm…best find out what they expect and start sketching!💡
Sketches done and approved!! Phew what a relief, I definately need to improve that skill though.
Ok so far I have
The design brief ✅

Ok, so now to formalise it and start to build.. I think?
A few hours later once I was satisfied, I took to speed-running Figma and building as I learnt, an exhausting process especially as the CO kept expanding the brief. 😥
After 72 hours over a really long weekend, I finally presented the prototype you see here.
